BOSTON -- The way the Red Sox figured it, the best way to warm up Fenway Park on a sub-40-degree Tuesday night was to bash a barrage of hits in their first rivalry matchup against the Yankees this season. Behind a monster performance by Mookie Betts and a strong outing from the mound by ace Chris Sale, the red-hot Sox made it nine wins in a row by thumping the Yankees, 14-1.

CHICAGO — White Sox reliever Danny Farquhar is in stable but critical condition in the neurosurgical ICU unit at RUSH University Medical Center. Farquhar passed out in the dugout in the sixth inning of the Sox 10-0 loss to the Astros Friday night. He was taken to the hospital, where tests revealed Farquhar suffered a brain hemorrhage. Additional testing showed a ruptured aneurysm caused the brain bleed.

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Making his first start as a 30-year-old, Clayton Kershaw toyed with the Royals over 6 2/3 scoreless innings of Friday's 10-0 Dodgers win, allowing one hit to wrap up Spring Training with a 0.00 ERA. Despite having his fastball velocity still stuck around 90 mph, Kershaw couldn't have been much more effective or efficient, in this start and all of the others this spring. He totaled 21 1/3 innings in six starts, allowed 12 hits while striking out 23 against four walks.

ATLANTA - Sister Jean's prayers were answered, again. Loyola is headed to the Final Four. The Ramblers defeated Kansas State 78-62 in the first ever meeting between a 9-seed and an 11-seed. Loyola started off red hot for a change, shooting 80% from the field in the first 8 minutes of the game. The lead swelled to 12 at halftime following a 9-2 run into the break. When the Ramblers have a cushion at the half, they're unbeatable this season - now 24-0.
